Route Advisors brokers FedEx Ground P&D, linehaul and Amazon DSP route businesses across the Puget Sound region. Buying a FedEx route in Seattle is a different calculation from almost anywhere else in the country, and the reason is not the freight – it is the wage floor. Seattle’s minimum wage rose to $21.30 an hour on 1 January 2026, against a Washington state minimum of $17.13, itself the highest statewide rate in the United States. Labour is the dominant cost in a pickup and delivery business, so that single number reshapes what a Seattle route package is worth and how it must be priced.
The Puget Sound region combines dense residential delivery with one of the largest distribution footprints on the West Coast. The Kent Valley is the second largest industrial park on the West Coast and the third largest distribution and warehouse area in the country, behind only New York/New Jersey and Los Angeles. That concentration is what sustains both commercial stop density and linehaul volume through the region.
Demand underneath it is steady rather than explosive. Seattle itself reached 823,400 residents as of 1 April 2026, and the three-county metro of King, Pierce and Snohomish added roughly 26,000 people over the preceding twelve months.
Geography shapes the routes. Water, hills and a north-south corridor constrained by I-5 mean stem miles and traffic behave differently here than on an open grid. Two territories with identical package counts can differ materially in hours, and an experienced buyer models the drive time rather than the distance.
FedEx route businesses are priced on cash flow, not revenue and not route count. Across the route businesses Route Advisors currently has listed, asking prices run from 1.6x to 6.0x annual cash flow, median 3.6x; FedEx Ground P&D packages specifically run 2.7x to 5.4x.
Seattle sits at the demanding end of that range to underwrite, because the labour line is higher than the national comparison a lender may start from. What matters is not that wages are high – every operator in the market faces the same floor – but whether the package you are buying already pays at or above it.
| Defends the price in Seattle | Invites a re-trade |
| Drivers already at or above $21.30 | Pay rates set before the 2026 increase |
| Tenured roster, low turnover | Churn in a market with a high wage floor |
| Route hours modelled on real drive time | Hours estimated from mileage |
| Manager in place | Owner driving daily |
A package whose margin assumes pre-2026 wages is carrying an unfunded cost, and a lender modelling replacement pay will find it.
Route Advisors has no published Washington listing at present. That is worth saying plainly rather than implying otherwise.
It does not mean nothing is available. A significant share of what we broker is never published, because sellers who are still operating cannot have their drivers and station manager learn the business is for sale. Those packages are shown to qualified buyers under a non-disclosure agreement. Tell us the market and the budget and we will tell you what is genuinely in play in the Puget Sound region.
Buying a route means being approved as an Independent Service Provider by FedEx Ground. The sequence is the same everywhere: a Request for Information, background and financial review, an interview with the terminal’s senior manager, then a negotiated agreement before the business transfers.
Two Seattle-specific additions to your diligence list:
Most purchases are financed with an SBA 7(a) loan. Lenders typically want a 10% to 30% equity injection, 20% being the common ask, and will expect three years of financials and a full equipment schedule.
Tell us the market and the budget and we will tell you what is actually available, including confidential packages that never reach the website. Call 1-855-ROUTE-55 or request current Puget Sound availability.

I am writing to highly recommend Miriam for her exceptional services in facilitating FedEx route transactions.
I purchased my first set of FedEx routes in 2018, and the business grew fourfold following the pandemic. As I reached retirement age, I decided to sell my routes and hired Miriam to manage the process. She successfully facilitated the sale of one portion in 2022 and the remaining two portions in 2025.
Throughout our four transactions together, one purchase and three sales, Miriam demonstrated extensive knowledge of the FedEx process. During a complex partial sale of my entire CSA, she was instrumental in gathering all the necessary data required for the bank to secure financing for the buyer.
I strongly recommend her services to anyone looking to sell their FedEx routes.

I recently listed my Fedex routes with Route Advisors and had a fantastic experience from beginning to end. Miriam and her team were professional and easy to work with, helping at each stage to make sure we completed all steps to get to closing.
In particular, they found a suitable buyer very quickly (within weeks of listing) and vetted the buyer before we moved to due diligence. We then had weekly calls to progress toward closing. The requirements were clear, advice was sound and decision points were presented with plenty of time to make good choices. We were able to move to closing in less than six months, achieving the deal structure and price that was beneficial to us and the buyer.
I highly recommend Route Advisors. Personal service, highly attentive and responsive (we were two time zones apart and I never felt ignored and never had a call that was missed), overall an A+.

Route Advisors was referred to me by a colleague, a former FedEx ISP contractor who successfully sold his business through Miriam. I interviewed approximately four different brokers before deciding to work with Route Advisors. My decision was based on my colleague’s successful experience with them and, more importantly, their extensive knowledge of handling complex FedEx transactions.
Route Advisors ultimately sold my business at a price higher than I had expected. Throughout the transaction, Miriam was involved every step of the way. She connected the buyer with a lender experienced in FedEx transactions, guided both the buyer and seller through the entire sales process, helped the buyer prepare the RFI, and coached the buyer for the interview with FedEx.
I was very pleased with the experience and the outcome. After the sale of my business, I referred Miriam and Route Advisors to another colleague who was also looking to sell his FedEx business. She successfully sold his business as well.
Based on my experience, I would confidently recommend Miriam and Route Advisors to FedEx contractors considering selling their businesses.
