What our clients say

“

I am writing to highly recommend Miriam for her exceptional services in facilitating FedEx route transactions.

I purchased my first set of FedEx routes in 2018, and the business grew fourfold following the pandemic. As I reached retirement age, I decided to sell my routes and hired Miriam to manage the process. She successfully facilitated the sale of one portion in 2022 and the remaining two portions in 2025.

Throughout our four transactions together, one purchase and three sales, Miriam demonstrated extensive knowledge of the FedEx process. During a complex partial sale of my entire CSA, she was instrumental in gathering all the necessary data required for the bank to secure financing for the buyer.

I strongly recommend her services to anyone looking to sell their FedEx routes.

“

I recently listed my Fedex routes with Route Advisors and had a fantastic experience from beginning to end. Miriam and her team were professional and easy to work with, helping at each stage to make sure we completed all steps to get to closing.

In particular, they found a suitable buyer very quickly (within weeks of listing) and vetted the buyer before we moved to due diligence. We then had weekly calls to progress toward closing. The requirements were clear, advice was sound and decision points were presented with plenty of time to make good choices. We were able to move to closing in less than six months, achieving the deal structure and price that was beneficial to us and the buyer.

I highly recommend Route Advisors. Personal service, highly attentive and responsive (we were two time zones apart and I never felt ignored and never had a call that was missed), overall an A+.

A FedEx route business in New York is valued on its cash flow, not its revenue or its route count. Across the route businesses Route Advisors currently has listed, asking prices run from 1.6x to 6.0x annual cash flow, with a median of 3.6x; FedEx Ground pickup and delivery packages specifically run 2.7x to 5.4x. What moves a New York operation within that range is whether it runs without its owner, whether the drivers stay, the age of the fleet, and the status of the station it operates from.

How much are my FedEx routes worth in New York?

Most New York route businesses sell between three and five times annual cash flow. Our current New York listing is an eight-run solo linehaul package at $2,599,500 on $532,481 of cash flow – about 4.9x on $3,965,299 of revenue, with a full-time manager and 13-plus employees – which is near the top of our range and shows what a managed linehaul operation commands here.

The figure a buyer works from is seller’s discretionary earnings – the cash left to a single owner-operator once owner pay and one-off costs are added back. Larger multi-route operations are valued on EBITDA instead, because the buyer is acquiring a managed business rather than a job.

New York’s minimum wage runs from $16.00 to $17.00 an hour depending on region, among the highest in the country, with downstate at the top of the band. In a P&D business that is the dominant cost, which is part of why linehaul and team-run packages are a meaningful share of what comes to market here. Tolls, congestion pricing exposure and vehicle access restrictions are real lines a downstate seller should quantify rather than leave to a buyer’s imagination.

How to sell a FedEx route in New York

  1. Valuation. We review your financials, route mix, equipment and contract and tell you what the market will support. No cost, no obligation.
  2. Preparation. Normalising the books, documenting the driver roster, assembling the equipment schedule. This stage decides your price.
  3. Confidential listing. Presented without identifying detail.
  4. Qualified buyers only. A non-disclosure agreement first, then proof of funds or lender pre-qualification before anything sensitive is shared.
  5. Offer and diligence.
  6. FedEx transfer approval. The buyer goes through the Independent Service Provider approval process.
  7. Close.

New York is two different route businesses under one state line. Downstate – the five boroughs, Long Island and the lower Hudson Valley – is among the densest and most congested delivery geography in the world. Upstate, along the I-90 corridor through the Capital Region, Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo, is a conventional regional market. They do not price against each other.

Can I sell my New York routes without my drivers finding out?

Yes. This is the first question almost every seller asks, and confidentiality is built into how the listing works rather than promised afterwards.

Listings are published without identifying detail, and a number of packages are never published at all. Locations are shown as a state or region where a seller needs it that way. Buyers sign a non-disclosure agreement before they see financials, before they see the territory, and before they see your name. You keep running your routes throughout, and disclosure happens on your timetable.

Frequently asked questions about selling FedEx routes in New York

How much are my FedEx routes worth in New York?
Most New York FedEx route businesses sell between three and five times annual cash flow. Our current New York listing – eight solo linehaul runs at $2,599,500 on $532,481 of cash flow – sits at about 4.9x, near the top of our 1.6x to 6.0x range, which is what a managed linehaul operation can command.

Can I sell my FedEx routes without FedEx knowing?
The sale is confidential from your drivers, your station manager and the wider market until you choose otherwise. FedEx itself must approve the buyer as an Independent Service Provider before the business transfers, so the company is necessarily involved at the approval stage, but not during listing or negotiation.

How long does it take to sell a FedEx route?
Preparation, listing, offer, diligence and FedEx transfer approval each take time, and approval alone usually adds several weeks beyond the purchase agreement. A prepared seller with clean financials moves considerably faster than one assembling documents after a buyer appears. No broker can guarantee a timeline.

Do I need a broker to sell a FedEx route in New York?
No, but a broker handles buyer vetting, confidentiality, normalising financials for a lender and managing FedEx approval. The practical value is reaching qualified buyers without your drivers learning the business is for sale.

What does a FedEx route broker do?
A FedEx route broker values the business, prepares its financials for a lender, presents it confidentially to vetted buyers, and manages the transaction through FedEx transfer approval. The practical value is reaching qualified buyers without your drivers or station manager learning the business is for sale.

What is a Contracted Service Area?
A Contracted Service Area, or CSA, is the geographic territory a FedEx Ground Independent Service Provider is contracted to service. When you sell a route business you are selling the company that holds that agreement, along with its vehicles, drivers and cash flow.

Does Network 2.0 affect what my routes are worth?
Yes. FedEx is consolidating its Express and Ground networks into shared facilities, roughly 25% complete and targeted for US completion by the end of calendar 2027, with more than 475 station closures expected. Buyers and their lenders ask which station your routes run from and what its consolidation status is.

Who buys FedEx routes in New York?
Downstate packages draw well-capitalised buyers who already understand congestion, parking and building access; upstate packages draw a conventional regional pool. Linehaul is the strongest part of the New York market, as our own inventory shows, so it should never be blended with P&D in one asking price.
